Who we are
Wecide is run by Carolina Campos, based in El Salvador. In these terms, "we", "us" and Wecide Support mean the publisher.
You can reach us at wecide.apps@gmail.com. This email is also the single point of contact for authorities and for people who use Wecide.
Who can use Wecide
You can use Wecide if you are 13 or older, or at the higher age at which the law where you live lets you use online services on your own.
An adult sets up rooms that are used with children. The Kids in the room filter is for groups that include children watching with an adult. See the Children section of our privacy policy.
The service
Wecide is free and needs no account. The app signs you in anonymously. A group joins a room with a 4-digit code, each person types a display name and ticks the streaming services they pay for, the host picks a night (a preset or a custom one, with an optional free-text night name), and everyone swipes films. It is a match when everyone likes the same film.
Rooms and everything in them are deleted automatically about a day after the room is created. There is no backup, so we cannot bring a room back.
We may change, pause or stop the app or any part of it at any time.
Film data
Titles, posters, synopses and ratings come from TMDB. Streaming availability comes from JustWatch through TMDB. Any of it can be wrong or missing, so check before you pay or plan an evening around it.
Kids in the room limits films to those TMDB lists as rated G or PG in the US. Ratings can be missing or wrong, so this is not a guarantee. Check a film yourself before watching it with children.
Wecide is not affiliated with any streaming service. Film titles and artwork belong to their owners.
This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
Your content
Your display name, the night names you type, your votes and the results you share are your content. You are responsible for it.
You let us show it to the people in your room and to people who open a share link. How we handle it is described in our privacy policy.
Acceptable use
When you use Wecide, you agree not to:
- use a display name or night name that is offensive, hateful, sexual or that pretends to be someone else
- harass other people
- use scripts, bots or other automated means to access the app or to copy its data
- misuse the app's access to film data
- try to break, overload or get around the protections of the service
Reporting
To report a name, a night name or a room, use REPORT on the app's home screen, or email wecide.apps@gmail.com with the room code and the name.
We review reports and act within a few days. We can remove content and end rooms. If the reporter gave an email address, we tell them what we did.
Where the law requires it, we pass urgent threats to life or safety to the authorities.
Suspension
We can block access to Wecide or end rooms that break these terms or the law.
Intellectual property
The app and its design belong to the publisher. Film data, posters and streaming availability belong to their owners and are used under the notices in the Film data section.
If you believe something in Wecide infringes your copyright, email wecide.apps@gmail.com and include:
- the work you say is infringed
- where it appears in the app or on the site
- your contact details
- a statement that you are acting in good faith
Disclaimer and liability
The app is free and provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be available without interruption or free of errors. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or deliberate misconduct, under product liability law, or for anything else that the law where you live does not allow us to exclude or limit. Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims about the app is limited to USD 100, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you started using the app.
If you live in the United States
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This is subject to the same exceptions as above: it does not exclude or limit anything that the law where you live does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of El Salvador. If you use the app as a consumer and live in the EU, the UK, Brazil or another country whose consumer protections cannot be waived by contract, those protections still apply to you and nothing in these terms takes them away. You may bring a claim about these terms or the app in the courts of El Salvador or in the courts of the place where you live.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect. You can stop using Wecide at any time.
App stores
Google Play's terms also apply to your download of the app. Google is not responsible for the app.
