Who we are
Wecide Food is published and operated by Wecide Support. Wecide Food is run by Carolina Campos, based in El Salvador, who is the controller of the information described in the privacy policy under the GDPR. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Wecide Support.
You can reach us at wecide.apps@gmail.com. This email is also the single point of contact for authorities and for people who use Wecide Food.
Who can use Wecide Food
You must be at least 16. The app asks for your year of birth when you sign up.
Give accurate details, keep one account per person, and keep your password secret.
The service
Wecide Food is free. We may change or pause it, or end it, and we will give at least 30 days' notice before it ends. We do not promise that it is always available.
Food safety and room rules
- Room rules match only the listed ingredients we have tagged. Food groups follow our tags.
- Tags can be wrong or incomplete.
- Room rules cannot see cross-contact, "may contain" warnings or what is inside a branded product.
- An ingredient rule matches that ingredient, not every product that contains it.
- Any member of the room can change or remove a room rule. Check the rules before you cook for someone who relies on them.
- When the app is offline it cannot check your room's current rules, so it does not warn you before you cook.
- Nutrition figures are estimates for the recipe's own serving and are not checked by us. They are not medical advice: do not use them to dose insulin or manage a medical condition.
- Fridge dates are estimates from the day you add an item; go by the use-by date on the pack.
- Timers may not ring if notifications are off, the phone is muted or battery saver is on; stay with the hob.
- Cook meat, poultry, fish and eggs all the way through.
- You are responsible for checking the food for everyone you cook for.
- Get medical help straight away for any reaction.
- Wecide Food is not a medical service.
Recipes and pictures
The recipes and their pictures are made by Wecide Food. The pictures are illustrations made with AI image tools, and your dish may look different.
If you find an error in a recipe, tap Report a problem with this recipe on the recipe's page, or email wecide.apps@gmail.com.
Your content
Your display name, room names, shopping extras and fridge entries are your content.
You keep ownership of it. You give us a licence to store it and to show it to your room, only to run the service. You are responsible for it.
Acceptable use
When you use Wecide Food, you agree not to:
- post unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexual content, or content that pretends to be someone else
- guess room codes
- scrape the app, extract the catalogue in bulk or use automated access
- interfere with the service
- reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows
- use the app for medical purposes
Rooms
The host of a room approves join requests and can remove members.
What members see is described in the privacy policy. Every member sees the room rules and can change them, and nobody sees who added a rule or when. In a small room others may still guess: in a room of two, a rule you did not add must be the other person's.
You can leave a room at any time. A room, with its rules, is deleted when its last member leaves or deletes their account.
Reporting and moderation
To report a member, use the report option on their row in the Room tab. To report a recipe, use Report a problem with this recipe. You can also email wecide.apps@gmail.com with the room code and the name.
- We decide each report against these terms and the law.
- We tell the affected person what we did and why.
- You can reply to our decision to complain or appeal.
- Where the law requires it, we pass threats to life or safety to the authorities.
Suspension and ending
You can delete your account in Settings or by email, as described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or end an account for a breach of these terms, or for legal or safety reasons. We tell you why. Your data is handled as the privacy policy describes.
Intellectual property
We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable licence to use the app. The app, the recipes, the pictures and the Wecide name are ours, and all rights are reserved. The app includes open-source software under its own licences.
To send us a copyright or content notice, email wecide.apps@gmail.com and include:
- the work you say is infringed
- where it appears in the app or on the site
- your contact details
- a statement that you are acting in good faith
We act within 5 business days. The affected user may send a counter-notice with reasons, and we reconsider.
Privacy
How we handle your information is described in our privacy policy.
Changes
We may change these terms for reasons such as the law, safety or new features. We update this page and its date, and for material changes we email account holders at least 30 days before they apply. Changes have no retroactive effect. You can delete your account instead.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is free and provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be available without interruption or free of errors. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or deliberate misconduct, under product liability law, or for anything else that the law where you live does not allow us to exclude or limit. Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims about the app is limited to USD 100, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you started using the app.
If you live in the United States
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This is subject to the same exceptions as above: it does not exclude or limit anything that the law where you live does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of El Salvador. If you use the app as a consumer and live in the EU, the UK, Brazil or another country whose consumer protections cannot be waived by contract, those protections still apply to you and nothing in these terms takes them away. You may bring a claim about these terms or the app in the courts of El Salvador or in the courts of the place where you live.
App stores
Google Play's terms also apply to your download of the app. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.
General
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term, that is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor of the service. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the app.
These terms are written in English only. If we publish a translation, this English version governs.
